Chem: Semester One Tests, review websites
Dearest Chem Students:
Here are the previous tests from this semester. The final will be comprised of similar questions to these.
Expect*:
25 vocab matching
10 short answer questions
5 balancing
5 naming compounds
5 sigfigs
5 sci notation
5 metric conversions
1 ionic and covalent bonding
2 double replacement reaction
Extra credit problems
*I may add a few other problems...
You may bring one 3x5 inch note card with information on it. However, it MUST be handwritten. No photocopies, typed or any mechanically enhanced or replicated cards will be allowed. They must be turned it with your final.
I will supply a periodic table, compound naming flow chart, solubility rules and polyatomic names sheet.
Here are the old tests: (copy and past URL into your web browser)
Ch 2 and 3: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgz6rz42_10dhwxgfd7
Ch. 4: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgz6rz42_18fbf695gt
Ch. 5: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgz6rz42_19cwhr8hg4
Ch. 6: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dgz6rz42_20gthmbjfc
I think that this resource is awesome: Chem Team. There are a lot of practice problems and tips on how to solve problems. It can be wordy, but helpful.
Practice worksheets HERE!
Hope this helps! Remember, I'll be out of town Monday to Wednesday afternoon. I'll be in early Thursday. Don't hesitate to ask Ms. Strand for questions...she's really helpful!

Biology...Those Yeasties Beasties!
Hey Bio students! Welcome back from an extended Christmas Break. Love that snow!!!
If you recall, we were studying yeast population growth in solution and counting yeast cells each day. Today, we are going to summarize our data and put it in a google document, found here:
2008 Yeast Data
You will use this data to write your lab report using the format from UNCU's LabWrite. You have your data, hypothesis and this blog to help you out.
The Lab Report is due next Monday, January 12th!
